Kashi School of Yoga in Sebastian, FL
Our 3rd annual Kashi School of Yoga Open House was celebrated on a big scale on Yoga Day USA. This year was bigger and better than ever. Yoga classes were free all day and were packed!
We offered yoga sampler classes throughout the afternoon, starting with Gentle yoga, moving into our very own Kali Natha Yoga. Vinyasa Yoga, Ashtanga Yoga, Power Vinyasa Yoga, Breath class and our very own "Salutation to the Son" were all full sampler classes.
We gave away free gifts and we raffled off wonder Yoga prizes, as well as a day trip and free massage to every winner. Thirty vendors joined us, offering everything from yoga clothes, health services, free massages and organic products. It was a very successful Yoga Day USA. We now move into our teacher training next month with a wonderful injection of energy from Yoga Day USA.

Spirit Springs Yoga Teachers Association in Nature Coast, FL
Thank you to Yoga Alliance for helping make Spirit Springs Yoga Teachers Association's celebration of Yoga Day USA 2008 a tremendous success. We would have been delighted to have 50 - 70 people attend, but 150 people showed up! We had mats wall-to-wall and happy people participating in classes. The energy was fabulous.
Many told us they were unaware of yoga being taught in our community and as a result class attendance has risen.
We are very excited about offering Yoga Day USA next year and look forward to YA's assitance in making the 2009 event even better.
Thank you for raising the bar and providing yoga teachers with valuable tools for expanding awareness and enhancing the image of yoga.

Living Fit Today in West Palm Beach, FL
2nd Annual West Palm Beach Yoga Day exceeds all expectations!
Nearly 600 participants enjoyed great weather, vendors and a day of free yoga on the intercoastal waterway. There were a variety of classes, lots of fun and enthusiasm to celebrate National Yoga Day. Ages ranged from 6 to 80. Most importantly, 13% of all Yoga Day attendees were new to yoga!
Average class size was 70, with the largest class at 108 participants. Within the state of Florida, participants came from as far as Miami, Gainesville, and Fort Myers. Those who traveled from out of state included Puerto Rico, Quebec, Georgia, Pennsylvania, Indiana, New York, Massachusetts, and Colorado. Locally, we were pleased to see our Mayor of West Palm Beach, Lois Frankel, stopped by and greeted attendees.
The teachers were incredible and delighted the crowd. Each class was unique - one concluded with a singing bowl, another with a live musician playing during her session and another finished her class with a beutiful song, voice and quote.
There were 8 yoga classes and a total of 20 vendors, of which 12 were yoga studios. The event was held from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Meyer Amphitheatre in downtown West Palm Beach. Participants were provided a goody bag that had lots of "goodies" incluing Yoga Journal, Better Nutrition and Vegetarian Times magazines, Ocean Potion suncare products, Luna and Soy Joy energy bars, Elations Joint Drink, YOPA bag tags, Yogi Tea, and more.
We are so pleased to reach out to the community to show them what yoga has to offer as well as unite local yoga teachers for a common cause. We have quadrupled the attendance from our first annual event in 2007 from 125 to nearly 600. So much so that we have begun plans for our 3rd annual event!
