Namaste For Nancy

InStep in Franklin WI held its first ever Yoga Day USA event. Namaste For Nancy offered the benefits of yoga,Reiki, chair massage and acupuncture while raising money for the Nancy Sellars Memorial Foundation.
Nancy Sellars, an avid athlete, was killed last July by a drunk driver while she was riding her bike.
Our event was a huge success! We raised $2000! The money will be used to bring awareness to the tragedies of drunk driving while promoting bicycle safety.
The day began at 7 am with a steady stream of people until the last class ended at 6 pm. We offered a wide variety of yoga classes ranging from gentle yoga to meditaion with Tibetan singing bowls.
The Franklin High School SADD (Students Against Destructive Decisions) group volunteered their time throughout the day. They learned about Nancy's story and its impact on so many people.
Jimi Sellars (Nancy's husband) and his band Rimbender capped off the evening with a set of acoustic music for all to enjoy.
Namaste For Nancy became a day to heal, learn and find gratitude.
We hope to offer another Yoga Day USA event in 2010!
